A Peaceful Approach

By Kelly Krambeck

A pivotal moment as I found the disgrace,
Artwork in the basket with glue all over the place.
What a mess! He must not care.
But, I need to think before I go over there.

What kind of teacher will I be?
Correct his wrong and make him see.
Or approach the mess
More peacefully?

I went up to Zack and took a seat,
I said, “Glue can be tough to keep it neat.”
Let me show you how
To make dots or lines,
Using your fingers is also fine.
Don’t worry about getting your fingers all sticky,
Just rub them together and off rolls the ‘icky.’

Zack gave it a try and he fixed his art,
Put it back in the basket with a happy heart.
Then he thanked me sincerely,
And that made my day.
The peaceful approach
Is surely the way.
