Montessori Worldwide

Montessori Memories Coloring Book

Janice Mayhew has opened a new company with a Montessori Memories coloring book, due out in January.

Mayhew has operated Lakeview Montessori School in St. Clair Beach, Ontario, Canada for nearly 30 years, as well as The Learning Store  by Lakeview Montessori School.

Her new company, Montessori Worldwide, will sell learning materials and offer workshops and consulting services.

For the coloring books, Mayhew said, she “drew pictures of Maria Montessori as a girl, and in various other stages and places of her life, as well as pictures of Montessori materials and children in Montessori schools, for children to color in and read.

“ My purpose is to provide something concrete for children in Montessori schools to receive as part of the Montessori 100th anniversary celebrations. My hope is that the coloring book will provide a way for schools to help their students personally understand the great contributions that Maria Montessori made to their lives.”

The books, in classroom sets of 25, will sell for $2 each. Mayhew said she will send e-mails out to Montessori schools with more information on the books in January.

Cost will be underwritten by advertising. She said the deadline for placing advertising is Dec. 20.
